Failed to automatically enable the proxy settings in Internet Explorer.
This message occurs when the CRUISIN'Speed installer isn't able to automatically set up your computer to work with CRUISIN'Speed. That means that it will have to be configured manually.
This solution has two steps. You must first identify the local listening port used by your version of the CRUISIN'Speed software. You must then use this information to enter the correct proxy information into Internet Explorer.
To identify the local listening port in the CRUISIN'Speed software:
1. Connect to the Internet. Once connected, the CRUISIN'Speed icon will appear in your system tray at the bottom right of your screen.
2. Click on the CRUISIN'Speed icon to display the CRUISIN'Speed menu, and select Settings. The settings configuration screen will appear.
3. Click on the Details tab.
4. Find the value displayed under Local Listening Port and write it down.
5. Click OK.
To enable the correct proxy settings in Internet Explorer:
1. Launch Internet Explorer. You do not have to be connected to the Internet.
2. From the Tools menu, select Internet Options.
3. In the Internet Properties box that appears, click on the Connections tab.
4. In the Dial-up settings box, highlight your internet Dial-up Networking account and click on the Settings… button. The settings box will appear.
5. Check the boxes next to Use a proxy server and Bypass proxy servers for local addresses.
6. Click the Advanced… button.
7. For the Proxy address to use for HTTP: enter localhost.
8. For the Port for HTTP: enter the local listening port value from the CRUISIN'Speed software that you previously wrote down.
9. Click OK on each of the three open dialog boxes to close them.
Internet Explorer should now be configured to work with CRUISIN'Speed.
The file sdi.db, used by CRUISIN'Speed, cannot be created or modified. As a result, CRUISIN'Speed acceleration is unavailable for this online session.

CRUISIN'Speed could not start due to a conflict with another application.
Either another Internet-aware application is already using the same TCP/IP port number that CRUISIN'Speed needs to use, or you are running a firewall program that prevents usage of that port number.
To resolve this problem, you will need to identify the port number that CRUISIN'Speed is using, and then either change to something else in the conflicting application, not run the conflicting application, or tell your firewall software to allow communication on that port. For information on how to configure the conflicting application or firewall, please consult the documentation that came with that product.
Note that it is not possible to change the port number setting within CRUISIN'Speed.
To identify the port number used by CRUISIN'Speed:
1. Start CRUISIN'Speed and connect to the Internet.
5. Click OK.
The Local Listening Port number that you wrote down is the conflicting TCP/IP port number. The other application must now be changed so that it does not use this port number.

C. Keep using CRUISIN'Speed
A. Adjust your browser settings (Internet Explorer)
If you are using Internet Explorer, try the following:
1. Open Internet Explorer, go to the Tools menu, and select Internet Options.
2. In the Temporary Internet Files section, click the Settings... button.
3. Make sure Check for newer versions of stored pages is set to Automatically.
4. In the Amount of disk space to use for your temporary Internet files, make sure the slider is set to a level that allows efficient storing of pages on your hard drive. You should try to allow at least 500 MB, depending on the size of your hard drive.
5. Click OK and OK to exit.
B. Adjust your acceleration speed
1. Right-click the CRUISIN'Speed icon in the system tray at the lower right of your screen (or click on the word CRUISIN'Speed on the CRUISIN'Speed toolbar) and select Settings.
2. Adjust the slider on the Settings screen. The further to the left, the slower the acceleration. The further to the right, the faster the acceleration. Please ensure that you move the slider to the fastest acceleration.
Please note that this will increase your speed to its maximum, it will lower the quality of pictures you view on the Web.
If, at any time, you would prefer to see an original, uncompressed image on a Web page you visit using CRUISIN'Speed, right-click the image and select Show Original Image on the menu that appears. Please note that in Internet Explorer 5.0 and 5.5 browsers, this option may not work with all images.
You can also choose to display all of the images on a page without compression. To do this, right-click any image and select Show All Original Images in the menu that appears. This option works with all images in all browsers.
C. Keep using CRUISIN'Speed
Be sure to continue using CRUISIN'Speed regularly for a few days - the service will improve its efficiency with prolonged usage.
Adjusting CRUISIN'Speed Acceleration Speed
Most of the time required to display a Web page consists of downloading graphics on that page to your computer. CRUISIN'Speed is able to significantly speed up these graphic downloads by compressing graphics. This lowers the file sizes of the images, making Web pages load faster.
You can adjust how fast you want pages to load by adjusting the level of graphic compression and/or number of colors displayed.
To adjust acceleration speed:
1. Right-click on the CRUISIN'Speed icon in the system tray at the lower right of your screen and select Settings.
2. Adjust the slider on the Settings screen. The further to the left, the slower the acceleration. The further to the right, the faster the acceleration.
Viewing original images
If, at any time, you would prefer to see an original, uncompressed image on a Web page you visit using CRUISIN'Speed, right-click the image and select Show Original Image on the menu that appears. Please note that in Internet Explorer 5.0 and 5.5 browsers, this option may not work with all images.
You can also choose to display all of the images on a page without compression. To do this, right-click on any image and select Show All Original Images on the menu that appears. This option works with all images in all browsers.
How do I start CRUISIN'Speed?
CRUISIN'Speed automatically starts whenever you connect to the internet. You will know that it is started because a icon will appear in your system tray at the lower right of your screen.
If this icon does not appear, then CRUISIN'Speed has not been properly installed.
If the icon does appear, but displays with a red CRUISIN'Speed Running Man Icon, either you have not purchased the CRUISIN'Speed service for the account that you logged on with, or there is a technical problem preventing you from using CRUISIN'Speed.
How do I Disable CRUISIN'Speed?
You can temporarily disable CRUISIN'Speed by right-clicking on the CRUISIN'Speed icon in the system tray on the lower-right of your screen, and choosing Stop CRUISIN'Speed Acceleration. The CRUISIN'Speed Running Man will turn red.
CRUISIN'Speed can be later re-enabled from the same menu, if desired. It will also be automatically re-enabled the next time you log on to the internet.

B. Lower your firewall settings
In order to successfully connect to CRUISIN'Speed, you will need to change the Internet security setting of your firewall program to a setting that is compatible with any dial-up ISP, usually Medium.
Occasionally, after the initial installation of the CRUISIN'Speed software, you may receive a notice that CRUISIN'Speed is trying to logon to the Internet. If you see this message, please ensure that you click Yes to allow the CRUISIN'Speed software access to the Internet. If you don't allow access, our software will be unable to function properly.
C. Change your firewall settings to allow CRUISIN'Speed to access the Internet
When you log on to CRUISIN'Speed for the first time with a firewall program installed, the program may ask if you want to allow x1exec or Zcast to connect to the Internet. x1exec.exe and Zcast.exe are the internal names of the CRUISIN'Speed program, and must be given access privileges in order to work correctly. If you accidently chose to prevent x1exec or Zcast from accessing the Internet, you will likely get CRUISIN'Speed Unavailable errors when trying to get online.
To fix this, you will need to change your firewall's setting to allow x1exec and Zcast to access the Internet.
There are different ways to do this based on your firewall software.
